[00:00.15] This is another way I've written songs recently [00:03.45] Um, this is a song that I did with Jack Antonoff [00:06.13] And Jack is one of my friends [00:08.08] And so we were hanging out [00:09.84] And he pulled out his phone and goes, [00:12.29] "Um, I made this amazing track the other day. [00:14.32] It's so cool, I love these guitar sounds." [00:16.44] And, um, he played it for me [00:18.99] And immediately I could hear this finished song in my head [00:22.65] And I just said, [00:23.93] "Please, please let me have that. Let me play with it, like send it to me." [00:27.63] And, um, so he sent it to me, I was on tour [00:31.08] And this was, uh, me playing the track on my laptop [00:35.26] Recording me singing the vocal into my phone [00:37.95] And, um, it ended up being a song called "I Wish You Would" [00:41.67] Um, because Jack wrote back and he's like "I love that!" [00:44.42] Um, so this is another way of writing, is writing to track [00:49.11] Okay, so this is an idea called "I Wish You Would" [00:52.71] It's kind of about this guy who's like [00:54.34] He's driving down the street in the middle of the night [00:56.46] And he passes his ex-girlfriend's house and it's like [00:58.82] He thinks she hates him, but she's still in love with him [01:02.42] Dramatic [01:03.33] This track is sick, I hope you like this [01:12.41] It's 2 am, in your car [01:16.57] Windows down, pass my street, memories start [01:20.32] You say it's in the past [01:22.33] You drive straight ahead [01:24.13] You're thinking that I hate you now [01:25.68] 'Cause you still don't know what I never said [01:28.05] I wish you would come back [01:29.69] Wish I never hung up the phone like I did [01:31.94] I wish you knew that [01:34.09] I'd never forget you as long as I live [01:35.97] And I wish you were right here, right now [01:38.68] It's all good [01:39.68] I wish you would [01:42.80] Do you like it?
